Welcome to Explore Music. To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable learning environment for all students, parents, and staff, we ask that all members of our community follow the Terms & Conditions below.

By attending lessons or using our services, you agree to these terms.

Lesson Cancellation Policy (for current students)

  • Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

  • Lessons cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice may be rescheduled during the current school term or within the relevant school holiday period, subject to teacher availability.

  • Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will generally incur the full lesson fee.

  • In cases of emergency or illness, Explore Music will make reasonable efforts to reschedule lessons for compassionate reasons at the school’s discretion.

  • Students are expected to arrive on time for lessons. Missed lesson time due to lateness cannot usually be made up due to scheduling commitments.

Health & Safety Policy

To help maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone:

  • Students should wash or sanitise their hands before lessons.

  • Please stay home if you are feeling unwell or experiencing symptoms of illness.

  • All studio areas are monitored under 24-hour surveillance for safety and security purposes.

  • At Explore Music, student safety and wellbeing are extremely important to us. All teachers engaged by Explore Music hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) in accordance with applicable Australian child safety requirements. Teachers are required to maintain valid clearances throughout their engagement with the school.

Code of Conduct

  • Treat all teachers, staff, students, and parents with kindness and respect at all times.

  • Bullying, inappropriate language, harassment, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

  • All students, parents, and visitors are expected to behave respectfully while on the premises.

ENROLMENT & STUDIO SUITABILITY

At Explore Music, we believe the right learning environment and student-teacher connection are important for both musical and personal growth.

As much as students and families choose us, we also carefully consider whether our teaching approach, studio culture, and learning environment are the right fit for each student.

Trial lessons are designed to help determine whether the teacher, student, and learning environment are the right fit for one another. Some studios, programs, or teachers may require an initial interview or consultation with the student prior to enrolment.

Explore Music reserves the right to decline, pause, or discontinue enrolment at its discretion where we believe a placement may not be the most suitable fit for the student, teacher, or studio environment. This is always approached respectfully and with the best interests of all students, families, and staff in mind.

Respect for Property

  • Please respect all instruments, equipment, facilities, furniture, and learning materials.

  • Any intentional or negligent damage caused to the premises, instruments, or property may result in liability for repair or replacement costs.

Studio Rules

  • No food or drinks are permitted inside lesson studios unless approved by staff.

  • Running inside the premises is not permitted for safety reasons.

  • Students should follow all instructions given by staff and teachers.

Trial Lessons

By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Payment Security:

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Explore Music does not store

    your credit card details.

  • Sharing of Booking Information:

Your booking details will be shared with Explore Music and the selected teacher

solely for the purpose of arranging and providing the trial lesson.

  • Scheduling Changes:

While every effort is made to honour the scheduled lesson time, unforeseen

circumstances may occasionally require a change. If the teacher becomes unavailable,

Explore Music will contact you as soon as possible to arrange an alternative lesson

    time.

  • Teacher & Student Fit:

The trial lesson helps both the student and teacher determine whether they are a good

fit. After the trial, the teacher may decide not to continue lessons if they believe the

teaching environment is unsuitable or if there are safety or other reasonable concerns.

Ongoing Lessons

Booking and attending a trial lesson does not guarantee acceptance for ongoing lessons with

the selected teacher.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Explore Music community and hope you enjoy

your trial lesson.

Liability

  • Explore Music is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings brought onto the premises.

  • Participation in lessons and activities is at the student’s own risk.

  • Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children before and after lesson times.

Changes to Terms

Explore Music reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will apply once published on the website or otherwise communicated to students and families.
